Very much looking for an AI query method that sits on top of DevonThink. Preferably it would point to docs in OneDrive (they are not ingested in DT) and would allow use of ChatGPT. Am I misunderstanding pdfpals, is that possible now?

Hello, first thank you for making this great app and I really enjoy reading papers in it. Based on my short usage experience of PDF pal app, I discover that, while keeping the app opening for some time, the response of switching from other program windows to PDF Pal app will become more and more delayed. I wish you can make some test and update the app. Thank you again and I appreicate your work.

We created two chats for the same PDF file "Empagliflozin in Heart Failure with a Preserved Ejection Fraction.pdf". One is with other PDFs of similar topics, and the other is solo. We asked the same question in order to let openAI to extract the result of the primary and secondary outcomes. However, the two chats fed back different answers. The answer from the solo chat is correct and the other from the chat with multiple PDFs is wrong. Check the screenshot for comparison. I think the app should have some parameters in order to let users specify which PDF file AI should be focusing on. Thank you.

Dear, sir or madam I like the PDF Pals app very much and it helps me a lot in my academic performance. However, I occasionally change the menu structure of my PDF files, which makes the PDF Pals no longer work for files that are previously added to the app and later moved to a different path. I hope you can add a feature to update the location of PDF files that have already been put into the PDF Pals library. Thank you. Regards, Tom

I recently paid for BoltAI (and Mindmac) and quite frankly BoltAI is an amazing piece of software in the way the plug ins now work. In particular the way one can connect claude/openAI to say perplexity (search) or brave (search) is an incredibly powerful tool for doing scientific research. The big missing piece here is having a RAG/PDF reader processor that is done in the way that PDFPals is able to highlight selective parts of the text and summarize it. It would be really great if one could merge these two pieces of software in someway as a plugin and eventually include a RAG component (e.g. being able to summarize / RAG say an entire Zotero library) as well. Right now PDFPals feels a bit orphaned (Claude 3 vs Sonnet 3.5 , no ability to search the web for additional info etc ) if you could glue these together (like mindmacs PDF reader) that would be awesome. Regardless really nice work on both pieces of software to be honest!

Ability to add epub and other document format to the app

It would be great if alongside to the chatbot there was the possibility to highlight and add notes to the PDF itself.

This would add the possibility of using local embeddings that are much faster and precise than Open AI, like nomic-embed-text. They are also free.

Of course, you have identified the documents and archived chat history. Let's enhance the experience by adding a dashboard (home screen) for easy querying and accessing of recent chat documents.
